free photo shoot tips and tricks

Keep your photo shoot session running smoothly and stylish with these little tips and tricks

  • Want a photo shoot but not sure what to wear? Some tips I have learned and researched are Coordinating colors! They are a fun unique way to get those  photos with out the" Matching tee shirt and Jeans" look. I find its a great way to have the family color coordinated while having each individuals own sense of style and personality expressed through their own outfit.
  • Planning a Newborn Photo shoot?   Book your shoot around your baby’s feeding and nap times, work with the natural rhythm of your baby. The perfect time to shoot a session is right when the baby would be laying down for a nap. If your baby normally falls asleep after a feeding, wait to feed the baby until you’re at the shoot. Newborn photographers allow plenty of time for this sort of thing to set up the best situation for great photos. Also think of any special props you would like to incorporate in photos. Such as family blankets, stitched special outfit, hair bow or hat.  Another tip for Newborn session, If baby has the common flaky Skin, cradle cap or crusty eyes gently apply warm wash cloth to clean away areas.
  • Simple Child Photo shoot Prep Checklist. 1 Clean nails, use warm wash cloth or baby wipe to wipe eyes for those eye bugars, wipe nose, hands and feet. Dirty feet can happen from sandals(black dirt on bottom of foot.) It is ok to bring bribes for your child to photo shoot. Sometimes after a while the kiddos can get tired of being the center of attention and a little treat can help get their mind off the shoot for a minute and enjoy them self. Avoid treats that will  color their teeth or color their clothing. Its best for your child to have a good lunch and nap before session. Often children get tired, and napping is a great way to avoid those famous meltdowns we parents all know and love ;) always great to have child wear something that compliments their eye color.
